Council of States Debates

The Government of India Act of 1919, that gave effect to the Montague-Chelmsford Reforms, established a bicameral Legislature at the Centre. The Indian Legislature consisted of the Governor-General and the two Houses-the Council of State and the Legislative Assembly. The 852 debates of various sessions of the Council of State held from 1921 to 1946 are being uploaded/migrated here in this collection.

The Original Version i.e. the verbatim reports of Lok Sabha Debates are available on Digital Sansad Website under the heading Uncorrected Debates. The Uncorrected Debates are released onto the Homepage on the next day for the use of the members, media persons, researchers and the public at large. Copies of the digital born Uncorrected debates are being uploaded here as and when made available.

Constituent Assembly Draft Making Debates

The Constituent Assembly of India first met on the 9 December, 1946 and continued till 24 January, 1950. On 29 August 1947, the Constituent Assembly had set up a Drafting Committee under the Chairmanship of Dr. B.R.
